Competitions
You must be over 18 years of age and resident in the UK or ROI to enter our competitions.
Employees of Jalebi and the Book People group of companies and their families are not eligible to enter the competitions.
Only one entry per person is permitted.
The closing date is as specified on the Competitions page.
Winners will be formally notified within 21 days of the closing date.
The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
The prize may not be transferred to any other person.
Full details of the winners will be given in writing upon notification.
No cash alternative or alternative prize can be offered.
Competition winners may be required to take part in publicity.
Use of a false name or address will disqualify entrants from receiving a prize. The Book People reserves the right to oblige any potential winner to provide documentary proof of their identity and address as directed by the Book People before a winner may receive their prize.
We reserve the right to amend these rules at any time.
Entry into a competition implies acceptance of these rules.
Jalebi and the Book People may at any time issue specific rules to be read in conjunction with these rules.

The Book People and The Jalebi Book Club are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only store, use and disclose the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998) and the Which? Web Trader Code of Practice. We collect information about you for two reasons: firstly, to process your order and contact you in case of queries and second, to provide you with the best possible service. We will not email you in the future unless you have given us your consent.
The information we will collect about you is: your name, address, phone number and email address
We do not hold your credit/debit card information on our web server and any personal information we do hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy, the law and the Which? Web Trader Code. Also, provided that you inform us of any changes, the information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you inform us of any inaccuracies we will delete or correct them promptly. We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent. If we intend to transfer your information outside the EEA (European Economic Area) we will always obtain your consent first. We may use technology to track the patterns of behaviour of visitors to our site. This can include using a "cookie" which would be stored on your browser. You can usually modify your browser to prevent this happening. The information collected in this way can be used to identify you unless you modify your browser settings.
